Wednesday 14th August

The Ladies 2024 Championship is underway after a very uncertain start with persistent rain hanging around, a reduced field stuck to the task in trying conditions. Dale Hamilton is the current Scratch leader holding a 10 shot lead from Tracy Morison, Dale is also holding a 1 shot advantage over Tracy in the Handicap section. B Grade Scratch leader is Glenda Williams who is 5 shots up on Christine Tancred with 2 more back to Wendy Wong, Glenda is also leading Handicap by 2 to Christine & 7 to Wendy. C Grade Scratch leader is Nancy Agnew with 3 shot advantage over Sharon Blackett & Toni Fisher while Toni is leading the Handicap section by 3 to Sharon & 4 to Nancy. Round 2 will be set for next Wednesday.

The ongoing wet weather devastated the Vets field with only the hardiest taking the day on

The ongoing damp conditions have led to a smallish field in the final 2024 Championship round although 11 of 12 seeded players across the 3 grades have turned out.

Clayton Babic is the 2024 Club Champion with a 3 round total of 224

A Grade handicap winner is Victor Matt with a nett total of 215
B Grade Champion is Paul Bush with a total of 67 scratch points
B Grade handicap winner is Bruce Chambers with a 3 round total of 110* points
C Grade Champion is James Casey with 53 points
C Grade handicap winner is Scott with a 3-round total of 107* points

Taylormade Golf 

Is it time to upgrade the clubs?

Hunter Valley Golf has recently gone into partnership with Taylormade Golf and have the opportunity to offer all of our members a free fitting at their state of the art studio.

If you are in the market for some new clubs, come in a have a chat to Brent about dates/times to book a fitting.

Also, in the coming weeks, Hunter Valley Golf will be launching our NEW Premium Hire/Demo Sets. Members and Guests will have the opportunity to hire these clubs (All current model Taylormade full sets) and if you choose to purchase a set or club, your hire fee will be subtracted from the sale. We think this a great opportunity to trial/test new clubs without having a driving range.

NSW PSSA Championships

We will be hosting the 2024 NSW Primary Schools Sport Association Golf Championships in September (Tuesday 17th – Thursday 19th ). Our weekly competition will be moved to Monday 16th September.

The organisers have asked if we could supply any volunteers for these juniors. NSWPSSA will supply any volunteer with complimentary lunch. Please indicate to Brent if you’d like to help out.

As the kids are a 7.30am Shotgun Start on each day. We are looking at hosting a Members 9 Hole Competition on Thursday 19th Afternoon. Tee times will be at 2pm followed by a presentation. Please see the boys in the shop to book in for this event.

Multi Tee Competitions

We are now fully functional in our Tuesday Competitions. Let the boys know in the shop which tee you intend to play from when registering. Players will have the options to play from whichever tee they prefer. Please see below the course ratings from each tee. Feel free to do the calculations and see what your handicap will be.

Currently, we are aware Belmont and Kurri have implemented Multi-Tee Competitions. Golf NSW have provided the above ratings. We will monitor results to ensure a fair playing field for future Multi-Tee Events.

Cart Fees

As all members would be aware, we’ve fought hard for years to keep your membership and green fees at a price that is very competitive in the Golf Market.
With growing cart costs, we have had to increase our motorised cart prices. This has been implemented from Monday 8th July.

9 Hole Cart Hire – $30 ($15 per person)
18 Hole Cart Hire – $40 ($20 per person)
