We’re taking a fresh approach.
We’re taking a fresh approach. To help preserve our sweeping coastlines and alpine slopes.
To keep nurturing our communities, local and far.
For us, sustainability isn’t just about the goals we set, light years away. It’s about the path we’re already on, today.
And we’re making it easier for our people, guests and partners to travel alongside us.
Together, the future’s bright.

We’re partnering with suppliers who share our commitment to reducing emissions and we’re sourcing products which match our mission.Â

We’re refreshing the way we implement sustainability, from how we design and refresh our spaces through to how we operate.

The climate’s changing, and so are our practices. We’re empowering our team and guests to get involved in our progress.
Rydges Takes a Fresh Approach to Sustainability

Sustainability is integrated into how we design, refresh, and operate our properties. Rydges Latimer Christchurch exemplifies this with a gourmet breakfast bar featuring locally sourced ingredients in reusable containers, and by composting food waste. Rydges Fortitude Valley has embraced renewable energy with the installation of solar panels, reducing their carbon footprint. At Rydges Fremantle Esplanade, the introduction of dual bins in guest rooms has doubled container recycling, showcasing our ongoing efforts to create environmentally conscious spaces.

We believe in the power of collective action, encouraging our team and guests to join us on our sustainability journey. Rydges Wellington converts food waste into compost, which is used at tree planting sites across New Zealand. Rydges Mackay Suites’ successful container recycling program has diverted thousands of vessels from landfill. Rydges Cairns Esplanade promotes resource conservation through optimised air conditioning, digital access, and encouraging reusable water bottles. Together, we’re making meaningful strides towards a more sustainable future.Â

For us, sustainability is not just about the goals you set but the choices you make along the way. Making better choices as a business – and making it easy for our people, customers and partners to make better choices too.
It’s a mindset that drives us on our sustainability journey. It’s at the heart of all the progress we’ve made so far – and it’ll power us to do even more now and in the future.
We’re choosing better – both in the big goals and ambitions we set ourselves, but also in the everyday actions and decisions that collectively drive change. Across every part of our business – Hotels, Cinema, Thredbo and HQ – we’re choosing to do business in a way that reduces our environmental impact and responds to a changing climate.
