tip Local Tip

When you stay Rydges, you stay local, and there’s nothing quite like a truly local experience.

Nestled amongst hidden courtyards and laneways of the Rocks are some of the best bars and restaurants within Sydney. Some local favourites that are right on the door step of the hotel, include Frank Mac’s, a cocktail bar tucked inside a heritage sandstone building dating back to the 1840’s. Have a seat in the hidden courtyard while trying some of the local gin collections on offer. The Squire’s Landing is also a must. Witness some of the best views in Sydney on a sunny day, while sampling some of James Squires famous beers, such as the 150 lashes Pale Ale.

If you find yourself staying on a weekend, the Rocks Markets are a must for browsing local art, unique homeware and clothing. Located on the oldest street of Sydney with the Harbour Bridge as your backdrop, the markets are a great way to enjoy local artists, music and food as you stroll the cobblestone streets.

With our convenient location in the historic Rocks neighbourhood of the Sydney CBD, you won’t be short of things to do near Rydges Sydney Harbour, whether you’re travelling solo, with Adults or the whole family.

The Rocks itself is home to plenty of fun activities. The iconic Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb offers one-of-a-kind views from atop the world-famous landmark and is a must-do for visitors. Stroll through the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens, Museum of Contemporary Art or The Rocks Markets held every weekend. Or prepare for a slight fright with the famous walking ghost tours in the Rocks. If you’re ready to explore further, grab a seat on a Hop On Hop Off Bus or Ferry or get the blood pumping on a bike tour.

There’s plenty of fantastic things to do in Sydney, many of which are a short walk or ride from Sydney Rydges Harbour, that can ensure your visit is one to remember.
