Melbourne Town Hall
Completed in 1870, Melbourne Town Hall is the home of the city’s cultural and civic activity, with theatre performances, weddings, receptions and exhibitions taking place year-round.
The Heritage listed building has played host to major milestones and events over the past 135 years, with historic moments including the Federation debate, the debut of Nellie Melba and the greeting of enthusiastic fans by the Beatles and Abba at the grand Council Chambers.
As well as the Council Chambers, Melbourne Town Hall also features a large auditorium with a Grand Organ that has been featured in performances by a variety of artists including Philip Glass, Paul Grabowski and the Necks.
