Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is 100 kilometres from the Powerhouse Hotel Armidale by Rydges. It’s easy to get to the park and should take you around an hour and a half to drive to. To get there, follow the New England Highway and Thunderbolts Way to Jamieson St in Walcha, then take Emu Creek Road and Moona Plains Road before arriving at the National Park.
This Australian World Heritage spot is part of the incredibly rare Gondwana Rainforests, a dry rainforest. From the dramatic gorges to the wild rivers, the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is home to some spectacular views, not to mention a vast range of wildlife, so be sure to bring your camera.
One of the best ways to see the park is along the Waterfall Way. From there, you can get fantastic views of the park’s waterfalls and maybe even some of its wildlife. It can also be explored walking, biking or camping.
