AngelEye Drowning Detection
Rydges Resort Hunter Valley is proud to be the first hotel and resort in Australia to install AngelEye, an advanced AI‑powered drowning detection system designed to enhance safety across our main outdoor pool.
AngelEye uses a combination of underwater cameras, overhead infrared cameras, and intelligent monitoring software to continuously track swimmer movement in real time. This dual‑layer visibility helps the system identify potential signs of distress — such as unusual behaviour or a swimmer remaining motionless underwater — and instantly alerts our onsite team so they can respond quickly.
How AngelEye Enhances Pool Safety
- 24/7 Continuous Monitoring
The system operates at all times during pool hours, analysing movement below and above the water’s surface for a clearer, more accurate view. - Instant Alerts
If high‑risk or abnormal activity is detected, AngelEye sends an immediate alert to our team via both mobile devices and a central monitoring screen, helping ensure swift attention. - After‑Hours Detection
AngelEye also includes access‑control features that identify unauthorised entry to the pool area outside of opening hours, helping reduce after‑hours risks. - Real‑Time Occupancy Insights
The system monitors how busy the pool is, supporting smoother capacity management during peak times. - Privacy‑Focused Technology
All video processing occurs locally on a secure server at the resort, ensuring strong performance and compliance with privacy standards.
Internationally Recognised Safety
AngelEye technology is ISO 20380 accredited, meeting global standards for drowning detection systems used in aquatic environments. Its installation at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley sets a new benchmark for hotel pool safety in Australia and reflects our ongoing commitment to guest wellbeing.
