Our Commitment to Sustainability

We are choosing suppliers and products that help us reduce our environmental impact while enhancing the guest experience.

• Introduced large-format Thankyou bathroom amenities to reduce single-use plastic waste.
• Swapped single-use plastic water bottles with aluminium cans
• In room pens and pads are now available only on request, reducing unnecessary waste while still keeping you covered.
• Prioritise seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and partner with suppliers from Canterbury-Bankstown region who share our commitment to sustainability, helping support local producers and showcase the best of the region.

Together, these steps show that small, thoughtful choices – whether in sourcing, service, or day-to-day operations – can create a big difference for our planet and community.

We’re building sustainability into the way we update and run the hotel:

• Energy-efficient LED lighting has been installed.
• Landscaping with native, drought-tolerant plants
• Installed water-saving fixtures, including low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets, to help reduce water consumption.
• High-efficiency appliances preferred in room and facilities upgrades.
• Use digital documents, QR codes and electronic communications where practical to reduce printing.

We’re responding to a changing climate, empower our people and customers to take part, and share our progress along the way. So far, we have:

• Introduced our Room Refresh program, rewarding guests with a $10 food and beverage voucher each night they choose to opt out of housekeeping, helping reduce water and energy consumption.
• Provide dual waste and recycling bins in guest rooms, with additional recycling facilities available throughout the property.
• Bring a reusable bottle and refill it at our public water stations to cut down on single-use plastic.
• Promote mindful travel by avoiding the purchase of heritage artefacts or products derived from rare or threatened species.
• Support the EVT Stretch Contributions program, enabling team members to contribute to trusted community and conservation partners, including The Children’s Hospital Foundation Ronald Mcdonal House where they host Heart lunch or Dinner for the families.
• We are proud to partner with Border Trust, our regions local community foundation, and contribute to many local community and sporting event fundraisers by way of voucher donations.
• All staff complete and have access to the Sustainability @EVT e-module.
