Whether you ride regularly and could be considered cycle crazy, or just after a quick and easy cruise, cycling is a fantastic way to explore a new destination. Cronulla and the wider Sutherland Shire has an array of on and off road cycleways for all levels of cyclists ranging from 1km – 100km, so grab one of our complimentary bikes from the lobby and let’s go for a ride!
If a leisurely bike ride is more your style, the nearby alleys and residential streets of Cronulla are your best bet. There are plenty of beaches and cafes at your fingertips to explore.
For those up for more of a challenge, we’ve enlisted the help of a local cycling guru and Sutherland Shire Cycling Club (SSCC) Secretary, Rodger Tranter, to recommend some of his favourite local tracks.
Cronulla to Sans Souci
One of the most popular local routes, Cronulla to Sans Souci, is an 11.5km, 40 minute ride on mostly flat, designated cycleways boasting beautiful water views and plenty of opportunity to stop and smell the roses.
Cronulla to Cape Solander
A slightly shorter 10km, 35 minute ride will be well rewarded by dramatic cliff views and arguably some of the best whale watching in Australia: Cape Solander Lookout. This ride begins on designated cycleways however take caution on the journey to Kurnell as an exposed road ride is required.
