Some of the changes we’ve made include:

• Thankyou Amenities: We’re proud to be the first hotel group globally to partner with Thankyou, an Australian social enterprise dedicated to ending extreme poverty. Large-format bathroom amenities reduce single-use plastics while supporting positive global change.
• Responsible Sourcing: Our washroom paper products are supplied through Supply Nation-certified partners, using FSC-certified materials that support responsible forestry and community initiatives, including First Nations education and local giving programs.

Minimising Waste & Recycling Responsibly

We’re always looking for better ways to reduce waste, recycle more, and make every stay a little greener. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

• Waste Less, Do More: Every guest room includes recycling bins for easy participation in our sustainability journey, while food waste is collected and composted to reduce landfill.
• Smart Climate Control: Each guest room features an energy-saving sensor system that allows guests to manage their heating and cooling – reducing consumption while maintaining comfort.
• Conference with Care: Our event packages no longer include single-use stationery. Delegates are encouraged to bring their own notebooks, iPads, or laptops – and we’ll provide a shared station on request. We’ve also introduced large-format taps to minimise packaging waste from bottled water, juice, and milk.
• Recognised Performance: Rydges Melbourne holds a 4.5-star NABERS Water Rating and 3.5-star Energy Rating, reflecting our ongoing commitment to improving efficiency and reducing emissions.

• Go Green with Rydges: Guests staying two or more nights can opt out of daily housekeeping to help conserve water and energy – and we’ll say thanks with a $10 food and beverage credit to enjoy during your stay.

• Water Conservation: Water efficient fixtures throughout the hotel ensure comfort with conscious use.

• Opt out of daily housekeeping and receive a food and beverage credit.
