Big Golden Guitar

The Big Golden Guitar is less than a 10 minute drive from Rydges Powerhouse Hotel Tamworth and is a must-see for music enthusiasts. For over 40 years, the Golden Guitar has been the major award in Australian country music. To celebrate its influence across the country, a 12 metre high Golden Guitar was erected in Tamworth. Weighing half a ton, it’s a sight to behold and one of the tallest guitars in the world.

There’s also a coffee shop where you can stop for a bite to eat and a cup of local coffee. If you want to commemorate the occasion, there’s a souvenir and music shop.

If sport is more to your taste, then there’s also the Collectors Museum. It’s home to the largest collection of Bradman Memorabilia. All of this is just over 5kms from the hotel.
